Shop Online and Support Pet Charities

25 July 2010 No Comment

When 4PetsOnline was first established way back in May 2005 (yes, we’ve been around for 5+ years), it was a far cry both in appearance and content from what you see today. We’ve also come a long way in the industry recognition we’ve gained; pet related businesses now contact 4PetsOnline as a matter of course with any new developments, authors send pre-release copies of their pet publications to me hoping for a write-up, and I’m always receiving pet food samples for review.

That is all very well, but promoting big business does absolutely nothing to help the many hundreds of thousands of pets in need. I donate to pet related charities myself, but one of the original intentions of 4PetsOnline was to be a voice for abandoned and mistreated animals and pets.

We now consistently have a monthly readership of 15,000 — 17,000 individual readers and growing. The vast majority of you have pets which means your pet shopping dollars number among the estimated $36 billion (and growing) spent annually in the USA on pets.

4PetsOnline has recently set up alliances with the following companies:

  • PetCareRx  Save up to 50% on all your pet care supplies
  • Amazon  Shop any department, it doesn’t have to be for your pets!
  • GreenDoggieBags  Save 10% on Eco-friendly Pet Waste Bags. Use code SAVE10 at checkout
  • The Bird Shed  The backyard birder’s choice
  • High Tech Pet  Featuring Electronic Pet Fences, Automatic Pet Doors, Radio Trainers, Bark Control Collars and many more innovative products
  • The Saddle Zone  A discount dealer of saddles and tack
  • Wizdog, LLC   Never worry about your dog’s bathroom needs again
  • Checks Unlimited   Lots of pet related, high security personal checks
  • Sittercity  All sorts of sitters from all over North America

Just click on the store names

Do your pet related shopping through those companies, using the links supplied on 4PetsOnline and at least 5% (I hope to increase this as support grows) of the commissions I receive will be donated to pet related charities. NOT the big charities with CEO’s earning mega-salaries, but small charities that survive through the work donated by volunteers and have no fat-cats at the top.

NOTE: Due to legislation, PetCare RX are unable to pay commission on prescription items

You HAVE to use the links provided otherwise you will not be recognized as coming from 4PetsOnline

Accountability:
A full accountability will be published regularly on this blog under an easy to find heading.

Charities I Plan To Contribute To:

The number of charities I shall contribute to will of course depend entirely upon the support I receive from visitors to 4PetsOnline.

  • The first one will be the Pet Adoption Fund located in Canoga Park, California. Pet Adoption Fund is a non-profit organization, with a 501 (c) status. They rely solely on donations. I visited them many times while living in California and adopted a cat from them that had been abandoned in a builder’s yard. Their volunteers had dug her out, starving and severely dehydrated from beneath a building. ‘Pepper’ is my 9/11 cat because that’s the date on which I adopted her.
