4PetsOnline Pet Store Now Open

Yesterday I published details of the 4PetsOnline drive to support small volunteer run charities with your online shopping dollars. Today I thought it would be a good idea to explain further about the charities I shall pick.

They won’t be big, what I term “fat-cat” charities that operate out of fancy buildings and pay their CEO’s exorbitant salaries. Take a look at my first choice the Pet Adoption Fund. They are a small organization, located in Canoga Park, California. They are an all volunteer organization with a 501 (c) status and rely solely on donations to keep operating.

There are thousands of little, no-kill pet rescue charities struggling to keep their doors open all over North America and I would welcome your suggestions. Please leave a comment at the bottom of this post telling me about a charity you would like to see added to the list.

Incidentally, if you are reading this and live in the San Fernando Valley, the Pet Adoption Fund is desperately in need of volunteers who will foster kittens, puppies, or timid dogs. If you’ve never been a foster parent…it is the most rewarding experience ever. They are also in need of volunteers over the age of 18 to walk their dogs of all sizes.
