The Most Creative Dog Names
You have probably already put a lot of thought into dog names and what you want to call your new puppy. Is it really that important? You betcha, you will be calling your dog by that name day in and day out for years to come. So coming up with popular dog names that still sound unique can become quite a challenge.
You could consider regular people names such as Beth or Mikey. There have also been owners who have named their dogs after movie stars such as the good ole Lassie and of course, who can forget The Beast from the movie The Sand Lot?
The great thing about dog names is that they are not held to the strict standards that human names are. You have much more creative freedom for coming up with something truly unique. So make sure you take advantage of this and choose a dog name that people will be talking about.
You may want to consider going with a name that describes your dog and his attributes. An example of this would be dog names such as Tiny, Killer, Beast and even Giant. If all else fails, you can always go with the stereotypically common names of Spot, Fido and Rover.
I have also always loved dog names that were the opposite of the dog. For example, naming a tiny dog Killer and a huge dog something like Mighty Mouse. That is what makes dog naming so fun, no rules or restrictions to hold you back. You are only limited by your own imagination.
One of my favorite dog names is my friend’s dog. He is black and white so she named him Oreo. It is cute, short and fits him perfectly. My mother has a Black Lab that she named Sadie, so you can go with pretty much anything for a dog name.
You dog can be named after pretty much anything or even anyone. Maybe name your female dog after an aunt you completely dislike or maybe name your new furry best friend after your favorite childhood friend.
Just be sure you are comfortable calling your dog when your mother is around or when you are out in public. Swear words or other profanities would probably not make the best dog names.
