Emily, my 8 pound chihuahua, was not thrilled at a teeny little black kitten snuggling up to her to sleep. Zach adored Emily and sttled right under Emily’s chest trying to nurse. Now Zach is twice as big as Emily but wraps his paws around her and sleeps sprawled out full length right on TOP of her. “Mama!!” You will never convince Zach that Emily is not his mother.:)
The stray cats in the neighborhood find me. I have rescued many litters and found homes for the babies. But one Mama brought a very sickly kitten to me and left it at my door. It was barely breathing. The Vet. said it was very ill and wouldn’t make it. I did all I could but the kitten was fading and was barely conscious. Mama cat peeked out and I told her the baby needed to be with her. She slowly walked over to me and picked up the limp kitten and walked away. I cried. It was so sad. Then a week later I heard banging on my door?? I opened the door and there stood Mama Cat with a healthy wide eyed baby kitten. The baby made it! “Thank you Mama Cat. The baby will be fine now. You did a great job!” That kitten is a miracle and now “Simon” lives with me!:)
